About

Professional biography

I'm a Registered Social Worker with over 35 years of dedicated experience in mental health and addiction services. I specialize in helping individuals navigate complex challenges, including severe mental illness, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and substance use.

My extensive career includes 25 years as a Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician, Team Leader, and Practice Lead within Interior Health. In recent years I have focused my practice on addiction recovery within the Revelstoke community.

I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in social work. I also have training and clinical supervision in Multigenerational Family System Therapy.

My practice integrates evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Treatment (DBT) skills, specifically targeting emotional regulation and distress tolerance through a trauma-informed lens. Grounded in Motivational Interviewing and harm reduction principles, my approach respects your autonomy at every stage of change.

Together, we will explore your early childhood core beliefs — the lifelong “scripts” and automatic negative thoughts (ANTs) that shape how you see your worth and the world. By identifying the triggers, thoughts, and situations driving unwanted behaviours, we work to replace unproductive habits with practical coping mechanisms, structured problem-solving skills, and process-oriented goal setting. Through self-monitoring and dedicated session work, you will gain the tools to manage stressors, prevent relapse, and build lasting physical and mental well-being.
